Waiting on God

We must get to a place where we can thank God for our bodies, for our struggles, for our trials. It is in these trails that God is perfecting us and teaching us.

For me, one if greatest things to learn is patience and to wait on God. This does not mean we ignore the science of weight loss. We diligently adhere to a plan to lose weight; however, we must also be patient and wait. No one gains 100 lbs. overnight or in a week. No one can lose that excess weight a week either. We work the plan, have patience in our efforts and go to God for emotional and physical healing. Our timing is not God’s timing. Waiting on the Lord is a challenging character trait to develop. However, we must learn to wait on God. We must wait and seek Him each day.

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:8-9
